Kasabian’s new album is inspired by Motown.
Lead guitarist Serge Pizzorno has revealed he was inspired by the head of Motown Records, Berry Gordy, and his idea of catching the ear of listeners within the first eight bars of a song when making their sixth album ‘For Crying Out Loud’.
According to London’s Evening Standard newspaper, he said: “On a grand scale we went to save guitar music from hell and be the saviours of rock and roll.
“In reality, I wanted to try and make an album full of really good, well-crafted songs.
“I was thinking about the 70s, when guitar music was hitting that beautiful point, with strong melodies and great riffs. And I was thinking about Motown and how Berry Gordy had this philosophy of, ‘Get ’em within the first eight bars.”
The ‘Shoot The Runner’ hitmakers have unveiled the full track-listing for their new record and have announced a run of intimate shows in the UK, kicking off in Llandudno Venue Cymru in Wales on April 12 and winding up at The Olympia in Dublin, Ireland on April 22.
